Psakoudia, a little town in the very centre of Sithonia, is located between two peninsulas on Halkidiki, Sithonia and Kassandra. It’s famous for the few kilometer long sandy beach with a yellow-golden sand. The beach is awarded the Blue Flag. The place itself was once a port of the village Ormilia, and since there are not a lot of contents for tourists, it is more suitable for all those who want to have a peaceful vacation nearby a well-arranged beach.

Psakoudia has only one main street that stretches along the beach in which a few taverns are settled, while some excellent bars and cafes are situated on the beach with nicely arranged gardens, and a few stores as well.

What is the beach like in Psakudia?

The beach is long, very wide, sandy and it gradually becomes deeper. It has got deck-chairs and parasols, free to use with a coffee or a drink, having enough space for setting your own equipment. Because of its nice beach, Psakoudia is developing and in its surroundings, new complexes are going up, with accommodation units, all of them being very close to the beach.

Beaches and places around Psakudija

Nearby Psakoudia there’s a well-known monastery Ormilia that’s a must-see, as well as one of the most important antique cities in the north, Olynthos. The administrative center of Halkidiki, Poligiros, is also near, which makes supplying simpler.

Psakoudia is a great place for you if you want a real vacation, without commotion and tourists, and an excellent base for seeing Sitonia and Kasandra. Nikiti is only a 15-minute drive away, and several famous beaches in Sithonia are located just near Nikiti, and a fifteen-minute drive from Psakudia (Agios Ioannis, Koviou, Lagonisi, Trani Ammouda and Talgo).

If you like to visit places during your vacation, Poligiros as the administrative center of Halkidiki may be of interest. It is located on the slopes of the mountain, at an altitude of 500-600m, so the evenings in it are very pleasant. The city is not on the coast, so it is not so tourist developed and you can enjoy it in a more relaxed atmosphere with locals on the square and at slightly cheaper prices.

Nea Moudania is just like Poligiros, 20km from Psakudia. This place is quite large and lively, with many restaurants, cafes, shops and a beautiful promenade by the sea and a large harbor. Both Poligiros and Nea Mudania can serve as supplies.

Metamorfosis is a small and sweet place, tucked into the pine trees, known as the air spa, and only 10km away from Psakudia, so it is also an option for nice walks.

Psaukodia is also attractive for those who are fond of mountaineering and for whom it represents the base for further exploring of the mountain area of Halkidiki.
