This post started as an idea of a sort of a guidance you could use on your vacation, without too many details or photos… I will write a special post about each of the places I recommend visiting over the next few days. This is just a practical and shortened guidance that may be used as a printable version.

Let’s say you’re in Potos and you wanted to take a tour of the island. This is what it should look like and which the important stops during the tour are.You are in the center of Potos, on the main intersection, next to the amusement park. By the way, the bus station and the taxi station are also there…

If you are facing Limenaria, the road on the right takes you to Teologos, a traditional village 10 km from Potos. You should visit Teologos in the evening hours and try lamb in tavern Latrou (Kleoniki).

You head for Limenaria. Some 200 m from the center of Potos you will see a sign "Aleksandra beach - Thassos Spa Resort". There is a ramp at the entrance into the complex. You should go there in the evening to see some of the programs or during the day for tennis, children’s toys, and such. Once a week, there is a Greek night, Latino and rock, and once a week there is a program for children. The program is not for guests only and it is not charged. You can stand at the side and watch, or you can sit in the garden and have a drink.

A hundred meters after Aleksandra beach is a shortcut to enter Pefkari. At the exit from the main road there is a small bend, so those who drive lower cars should be careful. This turn for Pefkari is not marked. If you do not take the shortcut, after another 100 m towards Limenaria, there is a sign "Pefkari beach", and then there is the exit…

Continue driving towards Limenaria, and after more than 1 km from Pefkari, there is a sign on the right side "Bolero discotheque". This is the most famous place to go partying in the south of the island. The discotheque itself cannot be seen from the main road. Of course, the best time to go is on Friday and Saturday, and the ticket which including one drink is 10 euros.

From the discotheque to the exit for Metalia there is 500 m. A small sign with "Metalia" written in hand is on the left side of the road. A relatively bad dirt road takes you to the beach. During the first 100 m of the road you will see horoscope signs made out of marble.

There is around 500 m from the exit for Metalia to the center of Limenaria. At the very entrance into the city there is a "city" church on the left. You come by the main intersection in Limenaria. If you keep going forward you will continue the circle around the island head towards Iris Gold and Limenas, if you turn right you will go to the Kalivia settlement and then to the intersection where turning right takes you to Maries, the Panagia monastery, the lake and straight to Kastro.

So, you are in Limenaria. The first thing you will see, on the far left side on the hill, is Palataki, the management building of the mine which resembles a castle. Take your car to the palace and then walk around, and make sure you get to the place where there is a great view of the old mine and Metalia.

You continue your circle around the island. You exit Limenaria and drive on along the main road. After 2 km you will come upon the gold factory Iris Gold. It’s on the right side, on a mount. There is a huge parking in front of the factory, so you can drive straight to the factory.

Some 500 m after the factory, you will come upon the Tripiti beach. There are 2 ways to get to the beach. The first is an unmarked dirt road. If you continue along the main road for another 200 m you will see the tarmac road leading to the most beautiful part of the beach, the small tunnels on the beach and the Blue Palace hotel.
