Using Serbian TAG device in Greece
Will we soon use the Serbian TAG device in Greece?
Yes. According to the latest information, the Serbian TAG device for electronic toll payment should be usable on highways in Greece as of July 1, 2025. The beginning of its use is currently only announced, and we will certainly announce it as soon as it becomes operational.
This initiative is part of the regional project “Toll4All”, which enables contactless toll payment without stopping at toll booths in multiple Balkan countries, including Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, and soon Greece.
The Serbian Ambassador to Greece, Nikola Nedeljković, stated that negotiations with the Greek company “Egnatia Odos,” which manages the roads in northern Greece, are at an advanced stage.
According to estimates from experts at “Roads of Serbia,” if the agreed-upon measures are implemented, the system could start functioning as early as July 1.
This change will particularly delight drivers from Serbia planning trips to popular Greek destinations such as Halkidiki and the Olympic region, as it will allow faster and easier passage through toll stations without the need to stop and pay in cash or order a Greek TAG device.
How will the Serbian TAG (ENP) be used in Greece?
To use the Serbian TAG device in Greece, drivers will need to register their device through the web platform Toll4All, where they will enter vehicle information and link a payment card.
The system allows three toll payment methods:
- prepaid (advance payment),
- postpaid (payment after usage), and
- an integrated payment system, where the toll is automatically charged to the linked account no later than 24 hours after passing through the toll booth.
It is important to note that Greece is obligated to certain European standards and procedures, so it is necessary to harmonize the technical aspects of the electronic toll payment system between the two countries. Nevertheless, both sides have expressed readiness to take all necessary steps to enable a unified toll payment system.
If you are planning a trip to Greece this summer, it is recommended to follow official information and updates on the implementation of this system to take advantage of all the benefits offered by electronic toll payment through the Serbian TAG device.
