The Greek TAG can no longer be ordered to a home address in Serbia. Just a reminder, the device is free and can be picked up at toll booths upon entering Greece. The minimum initial amount to be deposited into the account is 15€. Last update: April 2026.
The service is provided by the company “Nea Egnatia Odos” (new concessionaires, starting from 2026), which has temporarily suspended this service, as they informed us in contact. Follow us on social media, we will announce when this service becomes available again.
- The step-by-step instructions for ordering the Greek TAG device that were mentioned in the text have unfortunately been deleted, as they are currently not functioning.

What does the Greek TAG cover?
This device allows you to make electronic payments without stopping at the following locations:
- All highways within Greece.
- Underwater tunnel Aktio–Preveza (road to Lefkada).
- Other tunnels and bridges with tolls (except the Rio-Antirio bridge which is not covered by this system).
How does it work and what does it mean for you on the way to the resort?
- Pass without stopping: at toll booths, use the marked electronic lanes through which you pass without stopping.
- Automatic payment: when passing, the exact toll amount is automatically deducted from your account.
- Smart signaling: indicators on the toll booth signs will inform you about the successful payment, but also if the account balance is low and requires a top-up.
- Easy replacement: the device is the same size as the Serbian TAG, and easily attaches to the existing holder in the car.
- Additional advantage: in Greece, the TAG is not widely used, so you can almost always pass through toll booths without stopping.
Recommendation: Use the mobile application
Although you can register directly at the toll booth, it is much more convenient for travel to install the myEgnatiaPass application (available for Android and iOS). The application allows you to check the remaining balance and top up your account in seconds.
We care about you! For internet during the trip (navigation, communication, entertainment for children..) you can buy a digital internet card Nikana eSIM and be connected to the internet from home to the sea. Get your internet here Nikana eSIM.
Can EgnatiaPass be topped up online?
Yes. EgnatiaPass can be topped up online, through the official MyEgnatiaPass internet platform or mobile application - myEgnatiaPass. Online top-up is available to registered users and allows you to check the balance and add funds with a debit or credit card, without going to toll booths.
How does online top-up work for Egnatia Pass
According to the service description on the official website, Egnatia Pass users have access to the online application “myEgnatiaPass”, where they can:
- see the current balance in their account,
- top up their account via debit or credit card, whenever they want and with the desired amount,
- review all their transactions and history,
- manage transponders linked to the account,
- receive monthly invoices and reports.
Therefore, topping up the Egnatia Pass account can be done online through the internet application myEgnatiaPass, without the need to go physically to the toll booth or counter — meaning you can top up anytime, even when you are already in Greece or before your trip.
Step by step online top-up:
- Open the EgnatiaPass website and log in to the myEgnatiaPass internet application.
- Within your account, see the current balance and transaction history.
- Choose the Top Up / Account Recharge option.
- Enter the amount you want to top up and pay with a debit or credit card through a secure online transaction.
- After payment, the balance should be updated, and will be automatically used when passing through electronic lanes.
Contacts for support Nea Egnatia Odos - regarding the Greek TAG device
If you happen to have a problem or question regarding the TAG, you can contact them at: customercare@neodos.gr By phone: 2314 172750 Monday - Saturday - 08:00-20:00 Sunday - 10:00-18:00
Note from practical experiences of tourists
Recommendation from messages of other users is that, if you have the Greek TAG, the simplest way is to top up the balance in advance online — this eliminates the need to wait at counters or possibly top up at toll booths.
Can I use the TAG for multiple vehicles?
It is possible to use the TAG device in multiple vehicles, you just need to enter the registration number for each vehicle in the application. On the official company website, it states the following: “There are no restrictions on the number of vehicles. All you need to do is enter the registration numbers of the vehicles you have, during the registration process or whenever you want, and you will receive the corresponding number of electronic transponders – one for each vehicle.” So, you need to order a TAG for each new vehicle you plan to enter Greece with.
For the actual procedure, step by step instructions, unfortunately, we do not have as we have not had the opportunity to add another vehicle, so we do not have images for each step as in the text where it is ordered and activated. If you have any questions regarding the process of adding another vehicle to the account, here are the contact details of their support service:
- customercare@neodos.gr
- You just need to provide the customer code (Your code you received) so that your request can be processed from the next working day.
We would like to point out that the TAG is linked to you, i.e. your passport and license plates you have entered in the application (one or more), and only you in that vehicle can use it.
Have a safe trip and enjoy your drive to Greece.
