Description

Just a few kilometers from the capital of Cephalonia, Argostoli, there is a tourist attraction known as Fanari.

The original lighthouse was built in 1829 during the British rule. It is a circular Doric-style structure with 20 columns and an 8-meter high tower. It was badly damaged during the 1953 earthquake but rebuilt in 1960.

From the perspective of many visitors, this Saint Theodore Lighthouse is considered a romantic and exhilarating location worth a visit, if for nothing else, to photograph and enjoy a beautiful view of the city of Liksuri, located on the Paliki Peninsula.
