When traveling to Greece, many tourists also enjoy shopping in large shopping centers we write about in text HERE. Not knowing the opening hours of shopping centers and stores can surprise us and affect changes in plans.

Whether you’re planning a visit to the Cosmos shopping center, Jumbo department stores or a tour of the shops on Tsimiski or Egnatia Street, in this text you will find opening hours that will help you plan your shopping.

Opening hours in Greece

The most common questions we receive are about opening hours in Greece, both in the large shopping centers on the way to the resorts and opening hours in general.
This is important to know when planning your trip, if you want to go shopping.

Sunday is a non-working day in Greece, both in small towns and in big cities. Tourist places are an exception, where shops are open on Sundays during the season, while state institutions, post offices, and banks do not work on Sundays even in tourist places.

There is also double working time, which does not exist in many countries. Double working hours are usually from 8am to 2pm and from 5pm to 7pm or 8pm.

Banks in Greece are open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, until 2:00 p.m. on Fridays, and are closed on Sundays.

Recently, many shops are open all day (without an afternoon break). These are usually stores from the big chains Zara, H&Μ, Stradivarius and the like. And shops in shopping centers work without a break during the day.

During November and December in the period before Christmas, as well as before Easter, there are working weeks in all of Greece.
