That is why we have gathered in one place what really interests you: what are the beaches like, where is quieter, where there are more facilities, and which destination suits whom the most.

Sithonia - the most beautiful beaches and a quieter vacation in nature

If you are looking for turquoise sea, pine trees, and fewer crowds than in Kassandra - Sithonia is the right choice. It is known for its diverse beaches - organized and structured such as Lagomandra, Kalogria, and Karidi, to exotic coves like Orange Beach and Mega Portokali. For a peaceful vacation, choose Toroni and Nikiti, while Sarti is a bit livelier and popular among younger people. Sithonia is excellent if you are planning to visit different beaches and take excursions, such as the Blue Lagoon (Diaporos Island), and due to its specific location in the bay, it offers the warmest sea in Halkidiki.

Our recommendation

Sithonia has the most beautiful beaches in Halkidiki and the warmest sea. As it is a bay, the sea is shallower and warms up faster, so we recommend it even for vacations in the preseason.

• What to expect: Turquoise sea, pine forests, and a combination of exotic coves and family beaches. You can easily explore beaches and small villages or enjoy excursions to the Blue Lagoon (Diaporos Island). Since it is a bay protected from open currents, the sea is shallower and warms up faster, making Sithonia an excellent choice even for those who vacation earlier in the season.

Thassos - sandy beaches, shallow waters, and ideal for families

If you are looking for an affordable island with sandy beaches, long shoals, and not much driving - Thassos is one of the best choices in Greece. It is known for its emerald sea and diverse beaches - from popular ones like Paradise Beach and Golden Beach, to hidden coves like Marble (Saliara) and Porto Vathy. Thassos is great for families with children, but also for those who want a relaxing vacation, local food, and authentic villages like Panagia and Theologos. The island is compact, so most of the most beautiful places can be visited without long drives.

Kassandra - organized beaches, facilities, and the liveliest vacation in Halkidiki

If you want a developed destination with plenty of facilities, organized beaches, and a lively atmosphere - Kassandra is the most popular choice in Halkidiki. It is known for its long sandy beaches with shoals, beach bars, easily accessible bathing areas, as well as places like Hanioti, Pefkohori, and Polichrono that offer everything for a carefree vacation. For nightlife and entertainment, Kalithea stands out, while Siviri and Posidi are better choices for a more peaceful vacation.

Kassandra is ideal if you want a combination of beach, nightlife, and facilities at your fingertips - without the need for long drives.

Popular resorts closer to Thessaloniki - ideal for a family vacation

If you are looking for a more affordable vacation, quieter beaches, family facilities, and atmosphere, the entire Thessaloniki region is the right choice. It is known for places like Nea Kalikratia, Nea Plagia, with beautiful beaches, facilities for children and adults. There is also a region called Saint George, with popular resorts such as Asprovalta, Stavros, and Vrasna, connected by the same 12km long sandy beach. Due to the open sea, there are more waves in Asprovalta and Vrasna, while Stavros is more sheltered.

These places are closer so you don’t have to drive for a long time, and the accommodation is more affordable compared to Sithonia or Kassandra.

Lefkada - turquoise sea, spectacular beaches, and diverse vacation

If you are looking for an unreal blue sea color, world-famous beaches, and places that offer both peace and facilities - Lefkada is the right choice. It is known for its west coast with a milky blue sea color, beaches like Porto Katsiki, Egremni, and Kathisma, but also quieter places for accommodation like Agios Nikitas and Vasiliki. Lefkada is created for exploring unreal turquoise beaches, cruising to hidden surrounding islands, and enjoying romantic sunsets from spectacular viewpoints.

Unlike the flat Kassandra, Lefkada requires serious driving skills due to mountain roads.

Corfu - beaches, culture, and history

Corfu is an island that most of our people visit at least once. We have deep and emotional connections with this island, but it is also a great vacation destination - whether you want an active vacation or a “quiet haven.” It is known for places like the city of Corfu, Paleokastritsa, and Moraitika, but also for hidden coves. The island is very touristically developed, so you will find entertainment, excursions, and nightlife in abundance. Corfu is also great for lovers of local food and cultural sights. The architecture of Corfu is in a completely different style, so you will enjoy palaces and the old town reminiscent of Italy.

Particularly significant is the island of Vido, which preserves the memory of Serbian heroes from World War I and provides a unique emotional value to visitors.

Epirus - untouched nature and peaceful vacation

Epirus is a region for those looking for the perfect combination of mountains and the turquoise Ionian Sea. Here, mass tourism has not yet erased the soul of old stone villages. The focus is on two completely different bases: Vrachos, with its kilometer-long sandy beach and endless peace, and Parga, a picturesque, cosmopolitan town full of energy and history. While Vrachos is synonymous with relaxation to the sound of the waves, Parga is a town on a hill that requires good condition but offers the most beautiful sunsets and top summer buzz with tourists from all over the world. Our recommendation

• For whom: For nature lovers, active vacations, and those who want “two vacations in one” (peace and fun).
