- and from 18:00 - 20:00h (21:00h)
Where to Park for Shopping in Thessaloniki Center?
Finding street parking in the center of Thessaloniki is almost impossible and is reserved for residents (blue line). For shopping in the main shopping streets in the city center, it is best to use parking within the port of Thessaloniki or garages near Eleftherias Square and the White Tower. We recommend parking at the port. Parking at the top of Aristotle Square, at Elefterias Square is usually full. For advice on parking locations and prices, check out our guide: Parking in Thessaloniki.
Join us in exploring the main shopping streets in the center of Thessaloniki.
Tsimiski Street - for shopping in famous brands
The main shopping street in Thessaloniki is Tsimiski. This wide, shady boulevard is easy to find as it passes through the center of Aristotle Square and offers numerous stores of internationally renowned brands such as
- Zara, Mango, H&M, Marks & Spencer, Benetton, Artisti Italiani, and Massimo Dutti,
- as well as smaller boutiques of Greek brands and sports equipment stores.
Here you will find Attica, the largest and most famous Greek department store with a “shop-in-shop” concept - many boutiques under one roof, offering centralized sales and service. At Attica, you can find:
- Women’s and men’s clothing - from high-street brands (Zara\, Massimo Dutti\, Tommy Hilfiger\, Guess\, Calvin Klein\, Levi’s...) to designer lines (Armani Exchange\, Hugo Boss\, Ralph Lauren\, Max Mara\, Maje\, Sandro...).
- Shoes and bags - premium and luxury brands: Michael Kors\, Furla\, Tod’s\, Camper\, Geox\, Timberland\, Dr. Martens\, Reebok Lifestyle lines\, Hogan\, Veja\, Longchamp\, Marc Jacobs.
- Exclusive cosmetic houses: Dior, Chanel, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clinique, MAC, Bobbi Brown, YSL Beauty…
- Luxury and fashion watch brands (Tissot, Seiko, Fossil, Emporio Armani) and jewelry from domestic and foreign designers (Swarovski, Tous, Folli Follie, and Greek brands).
- Home accessories, candles, room scents, luxury notebooks, handbags, sunglasses, scarves, gloves, and belts.
The store is air-conditioned, elegantly decorated, with elevators and multiple levels. Within the department store, there are cafes, beauty corners, and personal shopping services.
In short, Attica is a place where you can find everything - from everyday fashion and sportswear to luxury brands, jewelry, and cosmetics, all in a modern space in the heart of Thessaloniki.
Store Hours on Tsimiski Street
Stores are open throughout the day.
Monday - Friday: 09:00 - 21:00
Saturday: 09:00 - 20:00
Sunday: closed. Shopping is not possible, only cafes and restaurants are open.
Egnatia Street - affordable prices and a good selection
Above Tsimiski, at the top of Aristotle Square (where the bus turnabout is located), is the main street in Thessaloniki, Egnatia Street. It is considered one of the main shopping areas, especially if you are looking for affordable clothing, shoes, and affordable jewelry.
Egnatia Street is long, busy, and commercial, with a large number of stores spread throughout the central area. When it comes to clothing and shoes, Egnatia is full of small fashion and accessory shops, outlet stores, and stores with lower prices, but not necessarily lower quality.
Regarding jewelry
Here you can find jewelry with local tradition: the jewelers on Egnatia have a reputation for quality jewelry but not at the level of top luxury brands found closer to the coast. In the central part of Egnatia, there are renowned jewelry stores. For example, Dimitriadis Jewellery at Egnatia 53B is a classic example of a jewelry store with a long tradition. Also, Million Diamonds - Moisiadis has a store at Egnatia 76.
If you have a smaller budget or want something more affordable, Egnatia is recommended because there are many lower-cost stores here.
The location is excellent as it is centrally located - making it easy to combine shopping and walking in one.
Store Hours on Egnatia Street
The working hours on this street are mixed. While large chains operate throughout the day, smaller boutiques and local stores still follow the traditional Greek rhythm.
Major retail chains:
- Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 21:00
- Saturday: 10:00 - 20:00 (Most open from 09:00, but you are sure from 10:00)
Smaller shops (Split working hours):
* Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 09:00 - 14:30 and 17:30 - 21:00
* Monday, Wednesday, Saturday: 09:00 - 15:30 (closed in the afternoon)- Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 21:00
All stores are closed on Sundays.
Tip: It is safest to plan your shopping on Egnatia in the morning (until 14:00) or in the evening (after 18:00) to avoid the “siesta” and closed smaller shops.
Mitropoleos Street - for unique pieces
This street is perfect for shoppers looking for special, unique pieces that cannot be found in mass stores. Mitropoleos Street is located parallel to Tsimiski, just below it, and is easy to find as it cuts through Aristotle Square. Unlike the busy Tsimiski dominated by major brands, Mitropoleos Street is home to smaller boutiques and stores of local designers.
Here you can find quality clothing, including elegant dresses, unique designer bags, shoes, and fashion accessories that are not part of the mass market offer.
In stores like
Sekoia, you can find Greek brands with handmade bags and shoes, while the boutique Philly offers carefully selected clothing and accessories, including brands such as Fever London, Emily & Fin, and Yumi. Additionally, Mitropoleos houses boutiques like Fransa and Penny Sabbado, known for their unique clothing pieces.
Sekoia – Greek brands with handmade bags and shoes
Philly – carefully selected clothing and accessories (brands Fever London, Emily & Fin, Yumi)
Fransa – boutique known for unique pieces
Penny Sabbado – known for original and designer models
Prices are slightly higher than on Tsimiski but follow quality and design.
Mitropoleos exudes a pleasant Mediterranean rhythm - windows are filled with pastel colors and natural materials, and between stores, there are small cafes and pastry shops that are a favorite spot for locals.
Store Hours on Mitropoleos Street
As a modern boutique area, Mitropoleos mostly operates without a break, but with a slightly later start compared to Tsimiski.
- Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 21:00 (no break)
- Saturday: 10:00 - 18:00 (some boutiques close at 19:00 or 20:00)
- Sunday: Closed
Proxenou Koromila Street - exclusive and luxury shopping
If you can afford pieces from the most luxurious world brands and designers, head straight to Proxenou Koromila Street. It is the most exclusive shopping street in Thessaloniki. This street is only one block away from the sea and runs parallel to Nikis Avenue (the street by the sea).
Here you will find boutiques of prestigious fashion brands, but also numerous small exclusive boutiques with unique pieces and designs by local creators.
In Thessaloniki, you won’t find shops of Louis Vuitton and Dolce Gabanna, but you can look for their clothing in stores that carry multiple brands. The street is also known for its elegant cafes and bars - perfect for a break during shopping or an evening stroll.
Stores are stylized, windows are tidy, and the ambiance is urban-chic. If you are looking for something special, top quality, or a brand that is rarely found, Proxenou Koromila is the right choice. Prices are, of course, high, in line with the exclusivity of this area.
In this street, there is also a fantastic exclusive (expensive) store where you can buy souvenirs and gifts for yourself and loved ones. The store is called “Hello From”.
Jewelers and jewelry: Like in Tsimiski, here you can buy excellent pieces of jewelry at one of the jewelers. Some popular jewelers are:
- Haritidis – classic jeweler with a quality selection
- Pandora Store – distinctive pieces and collections
- Papadopoulos Gold – traditional jeweler with a wide range
- Bord de l’eau – jeweler with unusual, non-standard and designer pieces.
Store Hours on Proxenou Koromila Street
The exclusive boutiques in this street follow European standards and operate all day.
- Monday - Friday: 10:00 - 21:00
- Saturday: 10:00 - 18:00 (rarely do any boutiques/stores in this street stay open later than 18:00 on Saturdays)
- Sunday: Closed
