If you love tranquil places untouched by mass tourism, then Spartia is the right place for you. The village is nestled on the slope of a mountain, with most houses offering a splendid view of the sea and the island of Zakynthos.

This peaceful village is located on the southern coast of Kefalonia, 12 km away from Argostoli and 8 km from the international airport.

A Small and Yet Uncommercialized Place in Kefalonia

Spartia is a very small, authentic place where mass tourism has not yet reached. It is extremely peaceful. If you are coming by car, this place can be a wonderful quiet base for exploring the island.
In the center of the village, there is a square with a church and around it, a maze of intertwined streets with houses. It must be noted that without a map, it is difficult to navigate through these streets, but there are tourists who enjoy getting lost in such a flowery labyrinth.

There are two markets, fairly well-stocked, and they are the only places for supplies. Bread is also bought there because there is no bakery. There are no cigarettes to buy anywhere in the village, so smokers have to get their supplies outside the village.
There is only one restaurant in the village. The food at the restaurant is very delicious, and the prices are reasonable.

Apart from the two markets, there are only two very small cafes, more like local hangouts, not resembling cafes in popular resorts.

Since the village is on a hill, there is no promenade in the classical sense, by the sea. The restaurant, church, and two markets are located in a miniature circle of houses in intertwined streets.
This place is truly only for tourists who love complete peace and the absence of tourist facilities but also for experiencing the local spirit and life of the Greeks.

The village is beautiful and a great choice for a day trip in Kefalonia. You can spend a lovely day in this tranquil village and enjoy the beautiful view.

Spartia Beach - Klimatsias

Although it may seem that the sea is far from the accommodation, due to the village being on an elevation, Klimatsias Beach is only 1km away. You can swim in the sea on both the left and right sides of the village dock. However, Spartia Beach is considered the main beach of the village.

To get to the beach, it takes a 5-6 minute drive or about half an hour walk from the village (which is pleasant when going to the beach but can be tiring on the way back).

On the right side of the beach, there is a very beautiful small sandy cove. The entrance is nice, long and gradual, the shallows are beautiful. There are rocks in the water, but at the entrance itself, there is sand, and some parts are completely sandy. The beach is peaceful, with no bars, only one restaurant, and a shower.
There is a large rock that can be reached on foot and from there, you can jump into the water.
On parts that are less accessible, a metal handrail is installed for people to descend directly into the water via a concrete path.

The beach is surrounded by hills, so the sun sets faster on this beach. It is very beautiful, the water is clean, and there is sand on the shore.
On the left side, there is a narrow part of the beach and a warning about the danger of falling rocks.
