Total tolls to Greece via Bulgaria (Season 2026)

Total price includes: toll in Serbia (to Dimitrovgrad) + Bulgarian vignette (7 days) + tolls in Greece (from the Promahonas entrance).

Starting point To Thassos/Kavala (via Bulgaria) To Halkidiki (via Bulgaria)
Subotica 34.37 € 36.07 €
Belgrade 27.37 € 29.07 €
Niš 17.37 € 19.07 €

Note:

  • We calculated the vignette for 7 days = 7.67 € and you can also buy a weekend (5.50 €) or monthly (15.34 €) vignette. For a return after more than 7 days, you need another weekly or weekend vignette. Or you can purchase a monthly vignette in advance.
  • The amount for Niš varies ±1.5 € depending on the entrance to the highway (Malča, Niš Istok, Jug, Sever).

For driving on highways in Bulgaria, there are no toll booths - a vignette is necessary, which can be purchased:

  • online: our recommendation is to buy exclusively through the official website or application BGTOLL to avoid commissions from unofficial intermediaries.
  • At physical sales points - at borders\, gas stations (Lukoil\, OMV\, Shell)\, as well as in some supermarkets. IMPORTANT - you must have the vignette immediately after crossing the border\, so online purchase is much safer. Read more details here: Where and how to buy a vignette for tolls through Bulgaria.

For internet during the journey (navigation, communication, entertainment for children..) you can buy a digital internet card Nikana eSIM and stay connected to the internet from home to the sea.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – Traveling in 2026

1. Does the Serbian TAG device work in Greece?

Unfortunately, not yet. Despite announcements, the Greek systems are not yet technically connected to our ENP. Your Serbian TAG will work in Serbia and Macedonia (with Open Balkan configuration), but once you cross Evzoni, you must use cash, cards, or the Greek TAG.

2. How to get the Greek TAG?

You can order it and have it delivered to your home address - for free. It arrives in about 10 days (off-season) and covers all highways in Greece. You can also pick it up at the border (right after the Evzoni toll booth), but only on weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00.

3. What is the situation with the construction (Flyover) in Thessaloniki?

The construction of the Flyover system on the bypass continues in 2026. Expect lane closures and traffic jams, especially during peak hours. We advise all those going to Halkidiki to have extra patience or use alternative routes through the city.

4. Where is the most affordable place to refuel?

Although it has become more expensive, fuel in North Macedonia is still significantly cheaper than in Greece. For the latest prices, follow Fuelo MK, while prices in Greece can be checked at Fuelo GR.

5. Can tolls in Greece be paid by card?

Yes, all toll booths accept Visa and Mastercard cards. However, we recommend always having 10–20 € in small change with you in case any of the terminals at the side ramps are not working.
