Step-by-step guide for online purchase of vignette

The website for purchasing the vignette has an option in Serbian language, which greatly facilitates the process. You can buy the vignette online in advance, it is only important to enter the exact date from which you want it to start being valid (e.g. buy it today for a trip you plan in 15 days).

Step 1: Access the official portal

Go to the official website: web.bgtoll.bg. This is the only secure state website without hidden costs and fees.

Step 2: Language selection and vehicle type

  • In the top right corner, select language.
  • Choose the category: “Passenger vehicle” is the first on the list.
  • Be sure to check the ‘I’m not a robot’ box and, if prompted, complete a simple task with images (e.g. mark traffic lights or pedestrians) to proceed.

Step 3: Enter vehicle information (Pay attention to letters!)

Be very careful here because once the vignette is activated, it cannot be changed.

  • Country of registration: Select your coutry.
  • License plate number: Enter the plates in capital letters, without spaces and hyphens.

Step 4: Select validity period and start date

Choose the desired vignette: Weekend, 7 days, or Month.

  • New announcement: From February 3, 2026, a daily vignette (4.09 €) will be available, but currently you are selecting one of the existing options.
  • Start date: Enter the date and time when you plan to enter Bulgaria. Be careful: if you buy it earlier, do not leave today’s date, but the one when you really travel.

Step 5: Payment and confirmation via email

After verifying the data, proceed to payment.

  • Payment: You can use cards (Visa, MasterCard), and recently services like Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported.
  • Confirmation: A PDF confirmation of successful registration will be sent to your email within a few minutes.
  • Proof: It is not mandatory to print it, but be sure to save that PDF on your phone or take a photo of it as proof of payment.

Can I buy a vignette as soon as I cross the border?
