Open tourism in Greece by May 14
Tourism Minister Haris Theoharis said on Tuesday that Greece aims to open the tourism season by May 14, 2021. He stated that tourists will be welcome if they meet one of the three conditions. If they have:
1. Negative test (not clarified whether PCR or fast)
2. Positive antibody test
3. Confirmation of vaccine received
Random testing will be performed at the border, but with quick tests at the expense of the state. Given that the results of the rapid tests are ready in 10 to 15 minutes, this would mean that no quarantine will be required.
He also said that Greece will be a safe country for all who visit it, that all measures, if any, that will apply to locals during the summer will also apply to tourists, and that hotel and apartment accommodation staff will conduct high epidemiological measures to keep guests safe.
PS. He did not mention whether these three conditions apply to tourists from all countries, but we expect that to be the case.
