Athani is a small village built on a slope with a beautiful view at the Ionian sea and is still developing in a tourist sense.
It is located 30km southwest from the capital city of Lefkas. This mountain village has about 200 permanent residents. First residents were Italians, and than in 15th century Spanish Jews, and all of them left their mark in the architecture across the village. Most of the residents later moved to larger cities in Greece.

The advantage of this village is the proximity of beautiful beaches on the west coast (Gialos 3km, Egremni 4km, Porto Katsiki 9km), and since it doesn’t have many residents during the year, it becomes very lively and active in the summer. There are few taverns, mini-markets, bakery and restaurants. It is known by its traditional architecture, and from the local people you can buy excellent honey. The village is built 400m above the sea level, so from here you can enjoy the fantastic, panoramic sea view and also unforgettable sunsets. The village can be reached by bus from Lefkas, or by your own car.

In Vasiliki, which is located 15km from Athani, you can find bars, restaurants, ATM, doctor’s clinic and supermarket. The bay is known as a heaven for surfers, but there are also available other activities such as course of scuba diving, rowing, windsurfing and boat rental. Agios Petros is 8km away and there you can find well supplied butcher shops, bakery and markets.
