Vourvourou is a small village on the eastern coast of Sithonia. In its vicinity, there are numerous splendid beaches, some of which are considered among the TOP 10 most beautiful beaches on the peninsula. Therefore, Vourvourou is an excellent base for accommodation and exploring the beautiful beaches of Sithonia.

It is renowned for its long beach lined with beautiful villas offering apartments for rent, many of which have direct access to the beach (without a road in between). The beach that these villas lead to is narrow, partially shaded naturally, sandy, and with a gradual depth or shallow water.

This beach is mainly used by guests staying in apartments right on the beach or very close by. Other guests of Vourvourou usually swim at the famous Karidi Beach, which is located in this village and is one of the most beautiful beaches on Sithonia.

Fava Beach is slightly less known but equally beautiful. While Karidi is perfect for families with young children due to its fine sand and long shallow coast, as well as natural shade, Fava has a gradual depth and is more suitable for swimmers. It is located in a peaceful part of Vourvourou and is accessible by car.

Opposite Vourvourou lies the Diaporos Island with the famous Blue Lagoon and Mirsini Beach. These beaches can only be reached by boat. For more information, read our article here.

One of the most beautiful beaches on Sithonia, Lagonisi Beach, is 9km away, while Talgo Beach is just under 8km away. The small and charming Latura Beach is 8.5km away, while the largest and one of the most beautiful beaches on Sithonia, Trani Ammouda Beach, is only 10km away. As you can see, within a 10km radius, there are four beaches considered the most beautiful on Sithonia.

Beaches towards Sarti

The coast from Vourvourou to Sarti is very interesting, nestled in high rocks and greenery. On this stretch, there are less popular beaches, but we find them very interesting and certainly worth a visit. These include Lacara, Zografu, Bahia, Rodia, a small Robinson Beach, the upscale Manassu, and then Armenistis in front of the campsite of the same name, which is among the most beautiful beaches on Sithonia. Armenistis is the farthest from Vourvourou, at a distance of only 15km. Along this stretch of 15km, together with Karidi and Fava, you can visit seven more beaches. One of our favorites is Rodia Beach with natural shade.

The famous Kavourotripes coast with its beaches (Kavourotripes Paradise, Mega Portokali, and Orange) is 22km from Vourvourou and represents the most beautiful gem of Sithonia. Platanitsi Beach, also among the most beautiful beaches, is another 2.5km after Kavourotripes, and then at the 27th kilometer, you reach Sarti where, besides enjoying the beach, you can also enjoy content-rich evening walks.

Beaches on the other side of Sithonia that you can visit if you are staying in Vourvourou

On the other side of Vourvourou, you will find Nikiti, which is closer compared to Sarti and is recommended for evening outings. It is about a 15-minute drive from Vourvourou. It is known that there are a large number of beautiful beaches near Nikiti, making these beaches easily accessible to guests staying in Vourvourou. These include Castri Beach, Agios Ioanis Beach, Koviou Beach, Kalogria Beach, Spathies Beach, Elia Beach, Lagomandra Beach. All these beaches are extremely beautiful and, except for Castri Beach, are at the top of the list of most beautiful beaches on Sithonia. In our opinion, the most beautiful one is Kalogria.

If you are feeling a bit adventurous, the renowned Lagomandra Beach is 25km from Vourvourou and you can combine a visit to this beach with an evening stroll through the picturesque Neos Marmaras.

In conclusion, if you are staying in Vourvourou and want to visit beautiful beaches, you won’t have to drive more than 25km in each direction to enjoy around 15 excellent beaches.
