Description

Maria Maisonettes is an accommodation located in Sykia, in the first row from Valti beach. It is a renovated facility with a very modern interior, and apart from its exceptional appearance, the accommodation is on great location that can be a good base for visiting beautiful beaches nearby this village.

It is 10m away from the beach, and the closest mini-markets are located inside of Melissa and Pitsoni campsites on Sykia beach at about 1.7km.

It has two identically arranged maisonettes. On the first level of the maisonette there is one sofa bed, while on the gallery are two double beds. The kitchens are fully equipped, they have a large fridge with freezer compartment, hotplates, and in the bathrooms there is a shower cabin. Both maisonettes have porch in the ground level, with dining tables and awnings and have a direct view of the street and the sea. Maisonettes are air conditioned, have TV and internet. Bed linen and towels are changed every four days, while the guests take care of the hygiene.

The yard is small but fenced, and guests can use private parking. Pets are also welcome.

If you are traveling from the direction of Sarti to Sykia, it is necessary to continue after the turn for Platania beach to Sykia and after 2.5km you turn left (third turn off from the main road). Then you will continue right, then turn right and after 1 km you will reach Valti beach. You will continue along the beach to the south for another 400m and you will see this object on your right.

Maria Maisonettes could be a good choice for families, primarily because of the vicinity of the beach, but also for all the other guests who would like to discover other beautiful beaches around Sykia.

Cancellation and payment policy

Deposit of 30% is required to confirm the reservation. Remaining balance should be payed first day upon arrival. If cancelled 21 or more days prior to arrival, paid money will be fully refunded. If cancelled at any time later, paid money is non-refundable. In the case of early departure, 50% of remaining days will be charged.

*If a refund of the deposit is possible, the shipping costs are borne by the guest. The amount of costs depends on the method of sending and the bank.

The place is perfect for a getaway, especially if you dislike the crowds and noise typical of large cities. The beach is long and relatively wide. The apartment is located about twenty steps from the beach. However, a significant drawback of the accommodation is the water, which has an unpleasant odor because, as we later discovered during our stay, it comes from zinc reservoirs, often giving it a brownish tint. It is advisable not to use the water for cooking. Even when rinsing your mouth or washing your face, there is a noticeable metallic presence in the water. Additionally, communication with the host is limited due to a lack of English language skills.

The house located right on Valti beach offers two duplex apartments. Seven of us settled into one apartment - four adults and three small children. The accommodation is modest in every aspect, yet it boasts an exceptional location. It is not suited for demanding tourists. The beach itself is stunning, with a fantastic color of the sea, and is almost entirely free for tourists, with a small section featuring sunbeds belonging to the camp and the only tavern on the beach. For those seeking a vacation without crowds, all-day music, and the worry of finding a spot on the beach, this is the ideal choice.

Located right on the beach, suitable for accommodating two smaller families in one duplex, an ideal choice for children.
Cons
Modestly equipped apartments, beds "ripe" for replacement, water is not drinkable as it is full of iron, no doctors or shops, own transportation is necessary.

Beautiful mezzanines located right on the beach of Valti. The mezzanines are spacious, furnished with new furniture, and feature lovely terraces that overlook the sea... it’s just a shame that the hygiene is poor. I get the impression that everything has been hastily wiped down. The water in the bathroom and kitchen is not suitable for use, it has a metallic taste and is orange in color. Nevertheless, these shortcomings of the accommodation cannot entirely spoil your overall impression... because you are literally on the beach.

A lovely mezzanine right on the beach of Valti. The terrace is spacious, and the furniture is new, but it is a great pity that the hygiene is extremely poor. The water in the kitchen and bathroom is not suitable for use... it is full of iron, reddish in color and has an unpleasant smell. One evening there was a hailstorm, the house leaks, the air conditioning is full of water, all the kitchen appliances are wet... even the bed.

A very pleasant and tranquil place for a holiday, yet the accommodation has its drawbacks: During extended periods of rain, the roof leaks directly onto the bed. The Wi-Fi was unreliable throughout our stay. The kitchen is poorly equipped. The water is of poor quality, undrinkable, and excessively rich in iron. The outdoor seating area could benefit from being more separated from the adjacent apartment. Communication with the owner is only possible in English via phone. Considering all of the above, I find it quite expensive. However, if you can overlook these issues, it offers a wonderful vacation experience and, for me, an excellent location; I would return, but I would likely appreciate a discount.

An excellent location for a peaceful family holiday, perfect for tourists who prefer to avoid city life. The hygiene and amenities of the accommodation fall short of expectations for the price category in which the apartment is situated. Despite these shortcomings, the accommodation offers an unforgettable vacation due to the beautiful, spacious beach and the tranquility that envelops the entire bay.

I appreciate that it is located right by the beach. The beach is nice. The yard is beautiful. The furniture is quite new. The owner is friendly, but we only communicated via Viber. Her son, who came by, does not speak English. It could have been cleaner when we arrived. The biggest issue is the water in the bathroom and kitchen. The water contains a lot of iron, which caused our legs to turn red. Such swimwear has discolored. The white shirt I wore after showering became discolored when I got a bit sweaty. Some of the items cannot be washed even now. The owner offered to refund my accommodation, but it was complicated for me to move. I really like the location, and there is a possibility that I might go back there, but it is unlikely due to the red water.

This is a new house located near the beach. It is equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need. On the ground floor, there is a studio featuring a sofa and a kitchen, and everything matches the description perfectly. The owner is exceptionally pleasant and friendly. The linens are changed every four days. This place is incredibly cozy and tranquil. There were very few people on the beach (at the end of June 2021), the water is crystal clear, with almost no stones or sea urchins. Within a five-minute drive, you will find the Arista supermarket, a bakery offering delicious ice cream and sweets, a butcher shop, and a fish market. All of these are in close proximity to one another. Additionally, here’s a useful tip: every Saturday, you can discover a village market in Sikia (10 km away) featuring fresh fruits and vegetables, olive oil, fish, and even clothing. The prices here are the most affordable and the goods are fresh.

There is no shop within walking distance, only one taverna, and no disco. However, this was perfectly fine for us.)
