Accommodation description
Kalliopis Houses in Astris is ideal as a base for touring the island. Nearby there are the sandy beaches Salonikios, Psili Ammos and Notos. We recommend it to families with small children because of the large courtyard, and those who want privacy during vacation and don’t like large complexes with many guests.
It’s 500m away from the Astris city beach and about 1,5km from Psiliamos beach. About 200m from the accommodation, there is a market Mathios.
Kalliopis Houses consists of two new buildings with four apartments, located in a huge garden full of olive trees, greenery and flowers. The buildings are identical and have one apartment on the ground floor and another on the upper floor. Apartments are exactly the same, except that apartments on the upper floor have terraces with the sea view.
From season 2025, there is only one apartment available for online booking.
Apartments (45m2) are spacious and consist of two rooms. The first room has two single beds and a kitchen, and the other has two single beds and a closet. There can be added and an extra bed. The entrance to apartments on the ground floor is from the front side of the house and to apartments on the first floor is from the back side, so both have plenty of privacy.
Apartments are air-conditioned and have a TV, WiFi, safe box, kitchen, bathroom, and mosquito nets. The kitchen is nicely equipped and except hot plates, it has a toaster, coffee machine, electric kettle, cutlery and crockery. Terraces are spacious with outdoor furniture.
The owner will bring bed linen and towels at the beginning of your stay and you can agree about the cleaning with her.
The yard is very spacious, with plenty of grassy area with toys for children in the shade of olive trees. There is also a barbecue, benches, and tables and chairs in the shade. Two buildings can accommodate four families in total, so the yard is never crowded or noisy.
The parking is located inside the yard.
Accommodation is located at the exit of Astris, as seen from the direction of Prinos, 5km east of Potos, opposite the gas station, on the left side of the road.
Kalliopi Villas are ideal for those who prefer accommodations surrounded by greenery in a quiet location, away from the city. At the same time the town Astris, where are several restaurants and a supermarket, can be reached in 4-5 minutes walk beside the main road, and to Potos, where there are really a lot of facilities for tourists, is just 5 minutes of driving away.

We have nothing but praise for the accommodation, the owner, and the place we stayed at, Tasos. Firstly, the property where the apartments are located is vast, allowing the children to play outside. Secondly, the accommodation is next to the road, so it's best to drive to the beach, but we often walked (it's not far, but there are no sidewalks, making it safer). The beach is about 250 meters away, and what we particularly liked is that it is never crowded, and the sea is wonderfully clean and warm. There is always shaded parking available, and there are also showers and changing cabins on one part of the beach. The accommodation itself is exceptionally spacious and clean. The terrace is enormous, there are screens on all the windows, there is always hot water, and the Wi-Fi is good. The owner is a special category, a wonderful and caring woman who brought us clean towels and linens every two to three days, very unobtrusive and kind. She even brought us her own high-quality olive oil. Near the accommodation is the beautiful Psili Amos beach, where the water is lovely and there is shade, but its downside, in our opinion, is that from half-past ten it becomes unreasonably crowded (so much so that strangers were almost sitting on our towel), and almost the entire beach, especially the shaded areas, is taken up by sunbeds from beach bars. So we went there once and didn't return. Golden beach is similar but larger and not as crowded. However, for those who prefer peace and less noise at the beach, our recommendation is the city beach in Potos, the far left side, San Antonio beach, Livadia below the monastery, and our favorite, which is only about 1.5 km from the accommodation, Salonikios. As soon as you turn right from the property onto the main road, after about 50 meters there is a sign that says Beach Cantina Salonikios. The road is dusty and a bit hilly, but it’s worth it because you arrive at a beach that has everything. A shallow area for kids, depth for swimming, and for snorkeling enthusiasts, an exceptionally rich underwater world, surrounded by pines, with shade, space for your own sunbeds, and a beach bar with great food and good, unobtrusive music, a toilet, and spacious shaded parking. Our absolute recommendation!
