Astris is a small town in the southeast of the island. The literature reports the name Astrida relating to the same place, but Astris is more in use.
It is a place of only a few dozen inhabitants in winter, without much commercial and tourist attractions.
It is ideal for those who want real peace and relaxation, no loud music and too much traffic and crowds, but close to Potos, which offers it all and is only 5 minutes drive south of Astris.
The place has several restaurants, hotels and villas, two mini-markets with enough products for a decent supply.
Although a small town, Astris offers a various selection of beaches. At only 800m from Astris from Potos direction, is located St. Anna, quiet and hidden, sandy cove, no crowds, sunbeds or umbrellas. At only 500m from the center is Psili Ammos beach, considered by many one of the most beautiful, sandy beaches on the island.
At the entrance to the place from the direction of Potos, one comes to a small sandy cove with a bar and sunbeds, called Astrida beach. This small cove is separated by a rock from a larger city organized beach, mostly sand, but with some rocky areas. Beach in its back has a large, free parking.
On the beach there are sunbeds and umbrellas that can be used with an ordered drink or coffee, and on the beach there is an excellent restaurant and hotel Astris Beach.
Near to Astris is also Giola, one of the most beautiful natural pools in the world.
Astris is rich in many wild coves and beaches, so if you are staying in this place, you can get to the research and find your favorite.
Astris is the place with the best micro-climate on this island.
Astris is the perfect place for a holiday for those who want to be out of the crowd, in a quiet place, and just a few minutes drive away from places that offer entertainment, a great variety of shops, restaurants and souvenir shops. It is excellent as a base for visiting the island because in its close distance are some of the most beautiful beaches like Roso Gremos, Notos, Alyki, Livadi and popular places like Potos, Limenaria, Pefkari.
