Ferry lines to islands in Greece - prices and timetables
Do we know which islands in Greece we can reach by ferries? How much time do we need and what are the prices?
Explore information about regular ferry lines from the ports: Thessaloniki, Kavala, Keramoti, Athens, Igoumenitsa…
Ferry lines in Greece are numerous and connect the mainland with the islands as well as the islands among themselves. The duration of the journey and the cost of transportation by ships in Greece depend on the speed of the ferry, the distance of the island from the port, the type of service, etc. With a ferry, you can also transport your own vehicle, so you can explore various places and beaches outside your accommodation once you reach your destination. The journey is comfortable, and on longer routes, you can purchase a ticket for a cabin on the ship (note: the cabin is shared with other passengers, similar to sleeping cars on a train). You can sit inside (some ships have lovely armchairs, some have seats like on an airplane), and also spend time on the decks, almost all of them have chairs and tables. Every ferry has restaurants, cafeterias, pastries, and more. Traveling in summer is a true experience.
Here we will provide links to find tickets for ferries and give an approximate price range and duration of the journey. It is not possible to display all the lines, but a quite large number of them are presented so you can get an idea of all the possibilities of going to your desired island or visiting multiple islands.
The schedule is subject to changes, so it is necessary to check during the travel planning.
Ferries on longer routes do not operate daily, and if you are planning a trip, you need to carefully connect the arrival to the port and the departure of the ship, as you may need accommodation to spend the night.
