Dishes for vegetarians in Greece

Although the scent of gyros and souvlaki spreads through the Greek streets, Greek cuisine is rich in meatless dishes, so vegetarians and those for whom meat is not a priority for enjoying a good bite can also indulge in them.

We often receive questions from our guests and followers about which meatless dishes they can order in Greece so they won’t be “sentenced to side dishes” (in the words of one of our guests).

We will provide a list of all known vegetable dishes with a brief explanation, including dishes suitable for vegans (only vegetables) as well as dishes made with cheese and/or fish.

We have listed the names of the dishes as they are pronounced in Greek.
