If you are traveling to the Ionian Sea, this place is great for a break.

A place that a large number of our tourists pass by, but do not stop by because they do not know what is hidden here.

Many of tourists vacation on the Ionian coast, in the regions of Epirus, on Corfu, Lefkada, Kefalonia and other islands and pass by Grevena. If you are already going to these regions, our recommendation is to stop, take a break for coffee and lunch if you have time, rest a bit and continue on. Right next to it, as soon as you turn off the highway for Grevena, there is a place where many Greeks and other tourists take a break. The place is called Pindos Cafe & Snack and in addition to good coffee, it is also known for the fact that here you can buy sandwiches with local products, but also many interesting products known in this area. The mushroom sweet got the most attention here, and if you’re passing by, stop by and try it.

This city and the whole region is famous for mushrooms, and if you enter the city you will have the opportunity to see a lot of sculptures, monuments and other decorations with mushroom motifs. There are also restaurants that serve mushrooms from that region, and if you like new tastes and specialties, you will have the opportunity to enjoy them here.

If you are a mountaineer and hiker and want to stay here for 2-3 days then Grevena is a great base because from there you have a lot of trails, rivers, peaks, interesting old bridges and places that are half an hour’s drive away. If you happen to be in Grevena on a Friday, the market is in the town square next to the church and many locals come to stock up for the rest of the week.

You can find Lidl here if you’re going to a part of Greece where there isn’t one, so take advantage of the opportunity to stock up.

If you are in a hurry to go to the sea, our advice is to at least stop by Pindos, buy some local products and try that sweet mushroom, stretch your legs, take a break from the drive and continue, and if you have at least 2-3 hours, stop by the town, take a walk, try some specialty. We also recommend the Aulais restaurant which is the most famous and recognized by the local population and very affordable with prices and order the mushroom mix where you will get more types.
