Accommodation description
River Studios is one of the nicest and quality accommodations in Potos, located in a peaceful area, surrounded by olive trees and greenery. It is a bit far from the beach (15 minutes by foot) but because of that, it offers peace and quiet. The owners are very polite and attentive, and this accommodation is also good as a base for touring the island, because it is located only five minutes by car from the most beautiful beaches on the island, such as Psili Ammos, Notos, Roso Gremos and Pefkari. For the season 2020. this accommodation is renovated and there is also a new pool.
It is located 800m from the center and 900m from the city beach.
River Studios consists of two buildings that have four quadruple studios and one quadruple apartment.
Studios (25m2) are new, very nicely decorated and located on the ground floor. Two studios have one double bed and two armchairs available also for adults. The other two studios have a double bed and bunk beds. Studios have direct acces to a really spacious, enclosed and locked courtyard, with beautifully landscaped lawn and a kiosk for socializing and dining.
Apartment (50m2) consists of two rooms. In the bedroom there’s one double bed and in the room with a kitchen there’s a sofa bed for two. The apartment is located on the first floor and has a large terrace overlooking the yard and olive groves.
Each accommodation unit is very clean and has new and high quality furniture, air conditioning, kitchen, LCD TV with satellite channels, hairdryer, wireless internet, terrace with table and chairs, mosquito nets and a bathroom.
Replacement of bedding and towels, as well as cleaning, is done after four days.
In the courtyard there’s a corner with toys for children, but also a part with built-in barbecue, tables and chairs.
A parking space is available on the spot.
New pool was built in the garden and there are also sunbeds and umbrellas for the guests.
At the main intersection in Potos, turn towards Theologos, drive for about 800m until you reach the bus station and the telephone booth on the left side. Turn left there and drive to the end of the alley until you reach the fence with a River Studios sign. If you don’t have a GPS, it’s best to come to our agency located across the church in the center of Potos, in order to get instructions how to get there.
If you want to escape from the crowd and enjoy in tranquility, in a villa with large playground for children, with fenced and secure parking, at 10-minute walk from the center and the beach, then River Studios is a great choice for you.

During the period from July 10 to July 20, 2014, we stayed in one of the River studios. There were two adults and two small children. The courtyard is a wonderful solution for the children, perfect for playing while lunch is being prepared (mostly barbecue), while the adults can enjoy a break with a cold juice or beer (whatever one prefers) in the shade, keeping an eye on whether there is enough charcoal "under the grill". The interior is tidy and clean, and the owner meticulously arranges the space every other day, changing towels and bed linens. Admittedly, it is a bit far from the city beach, but that is the least of problems if you have a car. City beaches are not particularly special anyway. In the morning (for those who wake up early), the scents of the sea and olive groves greet you, while in the evening you can hear the crickets and the aroma of dried grass. All in all, a fantastic holiday.

During the period from September 1 to September 11, 2012, my husband and I, a young married couple, stayed at River Studios. The owners are young and exceptionally friendly. In fact, we only met once, as they do not live on the premises, allowing us complete privacy and freedom. All studios are identical, so it does not matter whether you book a 2-bed studio or a 2+1 bed studio. In the latter case, an additional bed (a pull-out armchair) will be provided. Everything is new and clean, with bed linens and towels changed every five days. The accommodation is situated in a quiet area of Potos, where the sounds of traffic or neighbors are absent, replaced solely by the sounds of nature. However, it is about 800 meters from the center, so having a car is essential. This was not a problem for us, as we would have driven to various beaches anyway. We had been to Thassos before, so we were already familiar with the island's beauty, which has been adequately described on this site. One thing that hasn't been mentioned much, but we highly recommend, is dining at the ethno village of Theologos. Be sure to order the lamb (known as kacikaki in Greek), you won't regret it :)
