On about 7km drive southwest of the capital of Lefkada, a little uphill, in a pine forest environment, there is a small town of Tsoukalades. This interesting village is distinguished by the beautiful antique houses at the foothill and by the plenty of taverns arranged on the main road.

A winding, narrow road 2.5 km long from the entrance to the village, in the first part is asphalted, but after continues the gravel road, leads to one of the lesser known beaches that surrounds this place, the beach of Skala Gialou.

The beach is not arranged and does not provide absolutely nothing except the natural beauty. It has a pebble and sandy part, but also has walls on both sides and turquoise blue color, characteristic for beaches on the west side of the island.
