Sarakiniko beach
Sarakiniko beach is perhaps the most beautiful beach in the area of Parga. It is 9km away from Parga, if you turn from the main road to the beach near the village of Anthousa or it’s 11km from the village of Agia.
The road to the beach from the highway is 5km long, winding and it is necessary to drive cautiously. Light and somewhat strenuous ride pays off, because Sarakiniko is a really beautiful beach. You can reach it by boat or speed boat from Parga. Price is 14e in both directions per person. Slow boat ride takes 20-30 minutes and 10-15 minutes takes by speed boat. Departure from the port of Parga is at 11 am and return is in the afternoon at 17h.
Sarakiniko beach is tucked into the hills and greenery, it is in the bay so the sea on this beach is always calm, clear and transparent. Small white pebbles are on the shore and in the water, and the depth is gradual. There’s a small shallow for children. The green hills in its back provide sea emerald colour.
The beach is small, but usually, it is not crowded. It is well organized and you can rent sunbeds and parasols. There are two taverns and a bar on the beach. One restaurant has a swimming pool in its garden and it is available for the guests. On the cliff on the right side of the beach there is a tavern Agali, with steps leading to in. From the garden the tavern offers a fantastic view of the beach and you can enjoy the most delicious food. On both sides of the beach there are rocks around which are interesting for diving. There is a shower and changing room on the beach.
Even if the beach is not crowded, not even in the season, because of the parking space it’s advisable to visit the beach before 10 am, especially in high season.
