Komitsa Beach is a gem on the eastern coast of the Athos peninsula, located 5 km from Nea Rodha and right on the border with Mount Athos. This stunning beach captivates visitors with its natural beauty and tranquil surroundings.

The beach is divided into two sections, separated by a cape, and stretches along a bay with a total length of 4 km. The smaller section you encounter first is in front of a beautifully landscaped hotel complex. The larger section, situated beyond the cape, is closer to Mount Athos, from which a stone wall separates it.

The smaller section of the beach is accessible via an asphalt road, which ends at this part of the bay. From there, the road becomes a dirt and sand road. To reach the larger section of the beach, beyond the cape, you need to continue along this unpaved road through a forest. On the larger section of Komitsa Beach, there is a canteen with slightly higher prices and amenities such as showers, changing cabins, and toilets.

If you wish to visit the smaller cove, you can park along the road behind the beach. Given the more visitors during the season, it is recommended to arrive early to secure a parking spot.

The far-left section of the beach, when viewed from the sea, is organized and reserved exclusively for guests of the hotel complex. The majority of the smaller cove is open to visitors with their own equipment. If you plan to enjoy this part of Komitsa Beach, keep in mind that it lacks additional facilities, so it is advisable to bring everything you need for a day at the beach.

Coarser golden sand and shallow, calm, crystal-clear waters make Komitsa an ideal destination for families with children, as well as for anyone seeking peace and an escape from the tourist crowds. The beach is long and wide enough that, regardless of the time of the season, you won’t feel overcrowded. The natural surroundings and greenery that frame the beach contribute to a sense of seclusion and serenity.
