Sarti is considered by many as an ideal place to stay during the summer on Sithonia, both because of its beautiful town beach and the incredibly beautiful beaches that surround it.

Besides the longer journey to Sarti and the wind that blows often and causes waves, we couldn’t mention any other downsides to Sarti, but there are plenty of positives.

What does Sarti offer?

Sarti is one of the largest towns on Sithonia.

Located on the eastern coast, the road from Vourvourou to it winds through picturesque scenery of high hills covered in coniferous forests.

The town is on flat terrain and has all the amenities necessary for a pleasant vacation.

• Promenade, small square, shops, restaurants, taverns
• Well-maintained seaside promenade
• Long and wide sandy beach (never crowded)
• Playgrounds for children
• Accommodation for all budgets (accommodation in the city center, but also slightly outside the hustle and bustle yet close to the beach)

With this text, we want to help you plan your tour of the beaches near Sarti within a distance of up to 30km south and north of the town. Some of these beaches are among the most beautiful beaches on Sithonia, and even in the entire Halkidiki.

As we mentioned, the town beach in Sarti is 3km long, sandy, with a gradual depth in old Sarti and a shallow area in new Sarti. Its downside are the frequent waves.

Beaches near Sarti

• The first aid when there are waves on the town beach in Sarti is the beach Achlada.
• It is a small beach consisting of two coves that can be reached on foot. This beach is not representative of Sithonia, but it can be useful on windy days. There is parking space in the back of the beach. There is a beach bar on the beach, but there is also enough space for those who want to set up their equipment.

Beaches north of Sarti:

• Three and a half kilometers north of Sarti is the camp Platanitsi within which there is a beach of the same name.

• On this beach, the wind blows at the same time as in Sarti, so it should be avoided on those days. It is a beach with coarse sand and gradual depth, without shallows.

• The entrance fee for a full-day stay is 3.5€ per person if you want to enter the camp by car.

• If you decide to park your car in front of the camp in the parking lot and walk to the beach, you won’t have to pay the entrance fee.

• The beach is very beautiful, especially when the sea is calm. The color of the sea is turquoise. The beach is crowded during July and August, but it is large enough. One of the more famous cafes, Africaffe, is located on the beach, playing good and loud music. This beach, due to the lack of shallows, is not among the best for families with small children, but it is excellent for the younger population.

• It is close to the main road, so it might be best to just stop by and see if it suits you and then decide whether to stay or continue further. Once you enter the beach and the camp, you can use the toilets, showers, and cabins that are there.

• Shortly after Platanitsi beach, we come across the famous Orange beach.

• It is about 6km away from Sarti. This beach is well-known.

• Beautiful sea color, very fine sand, long shallows, large crowds in the season. This beach is one of the most beautiful in northern Greece.

• You can choose whether to go to the northern part of the beach which has a cafe and sunbeds, or the southern part which consists of several smaller, beautiful coves. We recommend the southern part with the coves, but be sure to arrive early to secure a spot.

• You should arrive at the beach no later than 9 am. Bring your beach equipment, water, and food. There is a large parking space next to the beach.

• About half a kilometer from Orange beach (along the highway) is the beach Mega Portokali.

• There is a small sign for the turn, as well as a kiosk right above the beach.

• The path to the beach goes through the forest, and at the end of the path, you need to descend about 30 meters down a very steep path.

• You can also reach this beach from Orange beach through the woods.

• The beach is narrow, but the water is unreal, and we recommend that you visit this beach, even if it’s just to look at it from above if you don’t want to descend to it.

• There is a very long shallow area in the water (up to an adult’s waist), and the sea is turquoise and very clear. There is parking space in the forest above the beach.

• Just about half a kilometer from Mega Portokali beach, you will reach another amazing beach. The Greeks call it Paradise beach, and we call it Dukina.

• There is no marked turnoff on the highway, so it’s a good idea to enter the coordinates Lat.40.1255400 and Long.23.9640592 into your device for easier navigation. If you don’t have a GPS device, there is an expansion for parking next to the highway where there are always several parked cars, which can also be a sign for you.

• You can park your car in that area or drive another 100 meters along the dirt road and then park.

• From there, you need to walk to the beach and follow the path which is steep in some places and leads through low vegetation. It takes about a 10-minute walk from the parking to the beach, but it’s worth it because the beach is one of the most beautiful on Sithonia. Turquoise water, clear sea, fine sand.

• There is a beach bar and sunbeds and umbrellas that are set up in one cove, and partially in the next one.

• There is a little space to leave your things in the second cove, and since this part of the coast has several coves, we suggest you take a walk and you will immediately find a few more beautiful coves.

• If you arrive early, you can have them just for yourself. You can order drinks or food in the kiosk, but we recommend that you bring your own if you plan to stay all day.

• 15 kilometers from Sarti is the Armenistis beach.

• The beach is beautiful, wide, and long, but it belongs to a camp.

• The entrance fee is 7€ per person, including one drink and a sunbed on the beach, or 6€ without a drink and sunbed.

• It is a very nice beach, but since it is often crowded, cars park along the highway, which is quite far from the beach, so we’re not sure if it should be a mandatory stop for you. You can also bring your own equipment.

• About 4km after Armenistis and 19km from Sarti is the Oneirou beach.

• This beach is known for the restaurant and bar Manassu.

• The bar and restaurant are elegantly decorated in bright tones and are an excellent choice for those who love full beach service.

• The beach itself is average, with a gradual depth, coarser sand, and stones in the water.

• The bar has parking for guests.

• Rodia beach is located just a kilometer after the Oneirou beach towards Vourvourou and 20km from Sarti.

• There is a 2km long road from the highway to the beach. The beach offers plenty of natural shade, a bar, a kiosk with fast food and pizza, and secured parking.

• The beach is pebbly and excellent for larger groups and those who enjoy a natural environment.

• The depth is gradual, but there are no shallows for children.

• Bahia beach is 23km north of Sarti.

• Shortly after the turn at Bahia beach sign, you reach a barrier and the entrance to Porto Elea camp, but you continue to the right on a dirt and winding road for another 2km.

• The beach has some natural shade from the rocks and is in a very interesting environment between high rocks, but we recommend it only to those who enjoy louder music and fully organized beaches without much space for beach equipment.

• The beach has a small parking lot that may be full in the season, but you can park by the road near the beach.

• The turnoff for Zografou beach is the same as for Bahia beach, and you drive the same road but this beach belongs to Porto Elea camp where you pay 3€ per person at the entrance. There is no bar offering light meals on the beach.

• There is space for guests with their equipment.

• The beach is tucked away between high rocks and lush greenery, with beautiful emerald-blue sea.

• The beach has parking.

And that brings us to Vourvourou and the beaches Fava and Karidi.

• Fava is 30km away from Sarti.
• There are signs for the beach on the main road, but you can also find it on navigation by entering the coordinates Lat.40.1846896 and Long.23.8181817 for easier finding.
• You can reach the beach by car for about 50m.
• The beach is sandy with pebbles, wild, so it is necessary to bring your equipment and water.
• The beach consists of several coves, without a long shallow area, and waves are common. If you enjoy less commercial beaches, you will like Fava.
• About 31 kilometers from Sarti is one of the most beautiful beaches on Sithonia, Karidi beach.
• It is a sandy beach with very fine sand and a long shallow area.
• The sea in this area is always calm unlike Fava.
• The beach is perfect for families with children.
• It is not organized, so be sure to bring your equipment, food, and water (there are fast food kiosks).
• The beach has a large parking lot in the back.
• It gets crowded during the season, so it’s best to arrive early to secure a good spot in the shade.

Behind Vourvourou, there are several excellent beaches belonging to the town Ormos Panagias. These are:

• Talgo
• Lagonisi
• Trani Ammouda

All of them are beautiful and organized, with Lagonisi standing out for its beauty, while Trani Ammouda is known for its spaciousness.

As you can see, within a 30km range to the north, there are numerous beaches that you can visit if you are staying in Sarti.

If you need to narrow down your choices, then don’t miss:

• Orange
• Mega Portokali
• Karidi

Both Lagonisi and Trani Ammouda are among the most beautiful on the peninsula if they are not too far for you.

Beaches Bahia, Rodia, Zografou, and Oneirou are a bit further from the highway, all in an interesting environment and excellent for younger people and diving enthusiasts. Karidi, Orange, Lagonisi, and Mega Portokali beaches are more suitable for families with children due to the shallows.

Beaches south of Sarti:

South of Sarti, there are a large number of beaches that are also among the most beautiful on Sithonia. So let’s go in order towards the south.

• Platania beach is located 1.5km from Sarti.
• It is a wide, sandy beach, and besides being shorter, it is very similar to the town beach in Sarti.
• There is plenty of parking space in the back, and the beach is never crowded.
• The beach is organized.
• Goa beach is only 3km from Sarti.
• A dirt road leads from the highway to the beach for about 200m.
• Goa is in a very interesting environment, between high and interesting rocks.
• The coast is pebbly, with rocks and pebbles in the water. There are no shallows.
• We recommend this beach for younger people and those who prefer quieter beaches.
• There is an excellent bar on the beach that plays nice music.
• The beach is not crowded, with plenty of parking space.
• Agridia beach is 5km from Sarti.
• A dirt road leads to it, which is not ideal for low cars.
• There is parking in the back of the beach.
• The beach is small, in a quiet cove, with a small beach bar, sunbeds, and umbrellas.
• It is a sandy beach with a gradual depth.
• Perfect for those who love small and less popular coves.
• A part of the beach is available for guests with their equipment.
• Just after Agridia beach, a kilometer past it and 6km from Sarti, is the Valti beach.
• Less visited, without crowds, sandy beach with plenty of space for visitors with their equipment.
• Perfect for lovers of non-commercial beaches.
• Seven kilometers from Sarti is the Griavas beach.
• It is very similar to Valti beach, and they are within walking distance of each other.
• Sikia beach is 8km from Sarti.
• It is a long, very wide, sandy beach with clear sea.
• It holds the Blue Flag award.
• Perfect for families with small children due to the shallows and fine sand.
• The beach is never crowded.
• Only a small section of the beach is organized.

At 9-10km from Sarti towards the south, we come across three similar beaches:

• Linaraki beach
• Pigadaki beach (Pigadaki)
• Tourkolimnionas.

These are small, sandy, organized beaches with a shallow area.

The most beautiful is the last one, Tourkolimnionas beach, and each beach has one or more fish taverns nearby. This beach has very fine sand and an excellent shallow area for children.

• By a shorter road along the cliff, 12 kilometers from Sarti, we reach the beach Klimataria.
• In our opinion, one of the most beautiful beaches on Sithonia.
• The beach has parking space, but it gets quite crowded during the season.
• Fine sand, a long shallow area, and very clear sea are the main features of this beach.
• There are several restaurants next to the beach, and you get sunbeds with a drink.
