Accommodation description
Xristina Sykia House is situated in the authentic Greek village of Sykia, located approximately 4.5 km from the beach of the same name. It is an excellent choice for guests for whom proximity to the coast is not a priority, but who seek peace and privacy during their vacation. The location offers a unique blend of traditional ambiance and comfort, making your stay relaxing and pleasant.
The village square is about 300m from the house, where you can find taverns, supermarkets, and bakeries.
This is a house, or rather a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor that can accommodate five people. One bedroom has a double bed, while in the other there is a double and a single bed. The living room has two sofas, and the kitchen, which is part of the living room, is spacious and equipped with a large refrigerator with a freezer, a stove, a kettle, and the necessary utensils. The bathroom has a shower cubicle with a curtain.
The apartment is air-conditioned, has a TV, mosquito nets, and internet access. The terrace is spacious with a table and chairs.
Towel replacement and apartment cleaning are done every 4 nights, while bed linen is changed every 3 nights.
The courtyard is small, concrete-paved, and fenced, but there is no private parking. Guests can park on the street in front of the house, but it is important to note that the streets in the village are quite narrow, which can be a challenge for drivers who are not accustomed to such conditions.
Xristina Sykia House is ideal for those who wish to enjoy peace away from the crowds. Although not in close proximity to the beach, it offers a pleasant stay in a traditional Greek environment where guests can enjoy comfort and silence, perfect for complete relaxation.
You can find out more about Sykia in our Tourist guide to Sithonia.

We chose this accommodation because it was the only one available for the period that suited us. Access to the villa is only possible on foot, which means carrying suitcases for 100 meters, or taking a shortcut through brush and stones for about 30 meters. The only positive thing about the accommodation is the size of the property itself: two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with a dining area. Another positive thing is the excellent internet and cable TV. The villa is very close to the church, so if it is a holiday, church bells and the liturgy over the loudspeaker may wake you up. It did not bother us, but we mention it for others. The landlady and her sense of hygiene are a story of their own. The woman washes the bedding on a 30-minute program at 30 degrees, which is extremely unhygienic in my opinion!!! The blankets from the beds and the armchairs in the living room are neither changed nor washed; she only airs them out before guests change over. The landlady is extremely pushy and kept bothering us with her life and advertising another apartment in Porto Koufo. On the fourth day she came to clean the apartment and found us having breakfast. We said everything was fine and that cleaning was not necessary, but she insisted and we let her in, just so she could see that everything was OK. We used our own bedding, so she only replaced the bedding from one bed that had the apartment bedding. Her idea of cleaning is to come at 10 a.m., change the bedding, put it in the washing machine in the bathroom on a half-hour cycle, and while the machine is washing she cleans the floors and bathroom. When the machine finishes, she hangs the laundry to dry and leaves only when it has dried. Also, when I enter the accommodation, it feels like her own home: she turns on the air conditioner, we turn it off, and she creates a draft. I understand that she is hot, but for us it is just right!!! Also, the woman keeps a few of her own things in the fridge, which is also new to us when renting accommodation. I must also mention that when we went to the beach during her cleaning, I returned for the swimming ring we had forgotten and found the said lady taking all our food out of the fridge so she could clean it!!! The house is equipped with everything you need, but everything has to be found in the wardrobes. There are also her clothes in vacuum bags. The rugs are stored behind the house door, so the house also has a specific smell.
