Traditional village Parthenonas is 5km far away from Neos Marmaras, up on the hill, with the elevation of 350m. The village is under cultural protection of the EU and the Greek state.

Those who are spending holidays on Sithonia ca visit this village for which we can find inscriptions since the 10th century. You will find areas with great view over the filds of olives, Toroneos bay, Porto Carras and the island Kelifos.

This settlement was almost abandoned in the 70s of the 20th century, when the inhabitants left it by moving to Neos Marmaras. Nowadays Parthenonas has few houses for tourist accommodation, few coffee shops, souvenir shops and one restaurant.

We suggest you to park the car on the entering “square” where you will find a beautiful garden in the shadow of the trees. From there you can follow the narrow streets made of stones in order to get the Paul’s Tavern. There’s also parking in front of the tavern so you can go and by your car if you wish. Next to the tavern there’s a coffee shop with an beautiful garden.

In the street which pass the centar on the way to Paul’s there’s a beautiful souvenir shop with unique gifts, hadbags and jewelry. It’s worth of visiting.

Except of old and abandoned houses you can visit the church of St.Stephan which dates to 1837, the Folklore Museum and cauldron where people make famous tsipouro.
