About Fava Beach:
- For peace lovers: a hidden beach without crowds
- Location: Vourvourou, near Karidi Beach
- Swimming: sandy shore, rocks in the water, and deeper sea
- Access: almost to the beach by car
- Facilities: wild beach, no organized amenities
Detailed description:
You can reach the beach by car about 50m away. A path leads you to the first bay, which is quite wide, and then with a leisurely walk along the water, you can reach the other two. To the left and right of the central bay, there are several smaller ones where you can find solitude if you arrive early.
Fava is very close to Karidi Beach, but unlike it, it does not have a long shallow area. The depth increases relatively quickly, suitable for swimmers rather than waders.
Unlike Karidi, which always has calm waters, Fava often has waves.
The shore is sandy mixed with pebbles, while the sea bottom is rocky, followed by fine sand. The bays are separated by rocks, and in some bays, you can even find rocks on the beach itself.
The beach is not organized, there are no sunbeds, umbrellas, or bars, so you need to bring your own equipment, as well as food and water. Natural shade exists only in the afternoon, when the rocks create it, so our advice is to bring a sun umbrella to this beach.
Fava is a well-kept secret of the locals of Vourvourou, where they escape the crowds and enjoy the beauty of their sea and nature.
In the hinterland of the beach, you can find beautiful and luxurious villas of wealthy Greeks, mostly from Thessaloniki.
If you long for swimming, enjoying a beautiful beach without crowds, music, and crowded sunbeds, visit Fava and relax your soul.
How to get there:
To reach it, continue straight from the turnoff to Karidi Beach until you come across a settlement in a pine forest with large family villas. When you reach a crossroads, continue straight, and after 50 to 100m, the road forks, and you go right towards the shore. The settlement is called Fava, and usually only locals and a few tourists visit the beach, so there are usually no crowds. There is a sign that says Fava, so we believe you won’t miss it.
