At 9km from the capital of Lefkada and 4km from Ligia, when you continue towards Nidri, at the foot of Mount Skaros, you come across a small place called Nikiana.

Nikiana is a charming fishing village, increasingly popular in recent years, but still suitable only for tourists who enjoy a very peaceful vacation.
It consists of one street along the main road where there are several shops, one restaurant, and a small port with a large number of sailboats, as well as several restaurants and cafes.
Even if you do not enjoy a peaceful vacation, while staying in Nikiana, you can still have a nice time by visiting beautiful beaches and places in the surrounding area.
The beach is narrow and pebbly (large pebbles) and can serve well during the summer, but it is certainly not the beach that attracts people to Lefkada. The sea is clean, but not turquoise like on the west coast. From Nikiana, there are bus lines to all parts of Lefkada, and there are excursion boats to the islands of Skorpios and Meganisi.
The capital Lefkas is truly full of content and attractions for tourists, and is only a 10-minute drive from Nikiana. You can enjoy evening walks by the sea, on the pedestrian zone, or go shopping, have dinner at one of the many restaurants and traditional taverns, and enjoy the rich nightlife.
Nidri, the most popular tourist destination on the island, is only 7km away from Nikiana. Besides being able to go shopping in Nidri, as well as in Lefkas, you can also have a great time in the evening. From Nidri, you can take a ferry to the islands of Kefalonia, Ithaca, Meganisi, and others, and you can also book one of the organized trips with large tourist boats, both to many Ionian islands and to Parga, as well as to the most beautiful beaches in Lefkada (Agiofili, Porto Katsiki, Egremni).
The beautiful Desimi beach is 13km away from Nikiana, Rouda Bay (Mikros Gialos) 21km, Afteli 25km, Agiofili 31km, Porto Katsiki 42km, and Egremni 46km. On the other hand, across Lefkada, be sure to visit the Faneromeni monastery, which is only 12km away from Nikiana. The sandy beach of Pefkoulia is 16km away, then the charming village of Agios Nikitas and the beach of Milos, which is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island (21km), and the famous Kathisma beach 32km away.
In addition to the places Nidri and Lefkas that you can visit and are really close to Nikiana, you can also visit the very charming little village of Sivota, known for its fish taverns (22km), as well as perhaps the most beautiful place in Lefkada, Vasiliki (28km).
