Gerakini is located at the very beginning of Sitonia, or at the end if you wish so. The Holomontas Mountain that can be seen in the distance is a great background behind the water of the Toroneos Bay, that is, the Aegean Sea.

This town is one of the oldest touristic destinations on Halkidiki. It is touristically well-developed and here you can find some of the larger hotels on Halkidiki, as well as small apartments and houses. Although this is a small town, you do not have to worry about groceries because there are a few supermarkets.

The Gerakini beach is almost 6km long and you will surely find a place for yourself. There are a lot of contents on the beach, from deck chairs and parasols, to taverns, cafes ans clubs, where you can try some of water sports. As for many destinations, driving a car is the best way to get there or renting some at a rent-a-car agency. From this point onwards, you can continue exploring both Sithonia and Kassandra and Thessaloniki, which not far away.
And then not even a month would be enough time for vacation!For evening walks, we recommend Poligiros, which leads to an excellent 15km-long road. Polygiros is not on the coast, it is located at 500-600m above sea level, so you can enjoy a little in a non-touristy atmosphere, authentic Greek atmosphere. From Polygiros there is a nice view of Cassandra, Sithonia and the bay.


Nea Mudania is also 10-15 minutes away, very lively in the evening, especially the promenade by the sea, which is full of restaurants and cafes, is great for supply, so we recommend that you visit this place as well.

When it comes to beautiful beaches, you should already head to the other side to go deeper into Sithonia. From the Nikiti onwards, according to Neos Marmaras many phenomenal beaches are concentrated, those that are considered to be the most beautiful not only in Sithonia but throughout northern Greece. Those are: Agios Ioannis, Kalogria, Koviou, Lagomandra

The west coast of Sithonia is also close to the famous beach Trani Ammouda, Lagonisi, Karidi…
