Athos is not as popular for summer holidays as Sithonia and Kassandra, in part because a large part of the peninsula is occupied by Holy Mountain, so the tourist part is much smaller. Still, Athos offers just enough content for a vacation.

The beaches we recommend you to visit are Komitsa, Kakoudia, Legend, Voulitsa, Xiropotami, as well as the beaches located near the Olympiada. There are still wild and poorly known beaches on Athos, and well-kept and well-known beaches can be found in a secluded or crowded area.

Ammouliani is an island that you can reach by ferry from Trypiti and it’s probably something the most beautiful that Athos has to offer, and it’s located on all the tour guides for Athos. If you have an adventurous spirit, rent a boat and visit the islands of Drenia (Donkey Islands) which are also very beautiful.

You can also use a summer vacation in Athos to have a tour around the Holy Mountain with a tourist boat as a part of the organized excursion.

Monastery Kakovo should also be on your visiting list while on Athos, as well as the ancient Stagira, considered as the birthplace of Aristotle, with an interesting interactive park.

We have a lot of accommodations in Athos, and you can see it HERE.
